For fresh-air hose type breathing apparatus the user of the respiratory protection equipment draws in fresh breathable air with his or her own force. The exhaled air passes through exhalation valves of the full face mask directly to the surrounding atmosphere. Rebreathing in the fresh-air supply hose is interrupted by the inhalation valve of the mask. Since the under pressure inevitably depends on the length of the hose during inhalation (inhalation resistance), the hose is limited to a maximum of 20 m. Hose devices are tied to a certain place due to the limited length of the hoses. However, the supply of air is time-independent.
